Days after the release of his highly favored mixtape K.I.D.S., 18 yr old Pittsburgh rap representa’ Mac Miller and I sat down to discuss the project, along with how his career was spawned and the cult-classic film which his project is named after.  The meet took place in NYC’s Washington Square Park in tribute to the movie the emcee so closely identifies with.  Click play to catch a quick verse from Mac followed by the YRB TV interview.

Video Drop: J. Cardim feat. G Eyez, Sha Stimuli & Termanaology – “G Like Me”

Check out the lead off music video for J. Cardim’s Dice Music Presents: The In Crowd. The video is for the first in a line of upcoming singles, “G Like Me,” a street banger with a hustler’s harmony of a hook. G Eyez kicks off the first verse somethin’ vicious, followed by street poet Sha Stimuli and the raw flow of Lawrence, Mass’s own Termanology. A soulful chorus in brought in by Danny “Skyhigh” McClean. Director Raf Moses was at the helm of the shoot which took place entirely in Brooklyn, NY.

Be sure to check out the entire mixtape (Download HERE) as it is possibly the best street compilation project of 2010 thus far. Other features include Joe Budden, Juelz Santana, Styles P, Ludacris, ODB, and rising Dice Music Group talents TUGE Palermo and Ariez Onasis. Both of the aforementioned Dice Music artists are currently putting together some serious heat slated to drop in the near future. Check out the BTS footage as well after the jump.

Download: Mac Miller – K.I.D.S.

If you haven’t heard about Pittsburgh’s latest spitta Mac Miller, well then you’re now in luck.  Recently unleashed is his new project K.I.D.S. (Kickin Incredibly Dope Shit).  Signed to Rostrum Records just this summer, Mac has solidified himself as the next up out of the steel city, following in the steps of his label mate Wiz Khalifa.  If you’ve yet to catch his 4 part video series called “Day in the Life” which has led up to the mixtape, be sure to watch it (here).  This recent high school grad need not apply for college, his career as an MC looks promising enough to stack up to a Bachelor’s in the art of MCing.  Download link and tracklist after the jump.

Download: CosteLL – Not Another Mixtape

August 5, 2010 by N Middz

Here at The Eargasm we have always prided ourselves first and foremost on providing our readers with the opportunity to discover new and unique artists.  That being said, after you download Not Another Mixtape it’s likely that CosteLL will be added to that list of artists that make you glad you frequent our site.

The aformentioned mixtape is appropriately titled in both a definitive and clever fashion as the Queens wordsmith’s latest project is not just one more assortment of tracks to run through once and then dismiss for all time, as is the fate of so many mixtapes.  At the same time the artist who slings poetic verses in true 90’s Queens fashion is making a statement that yes, he know’s you’re sick of all these damn mixtapes.

The freestyles that introduce the beginning portion of the project are undoubtedly full of creative, original and thought provoking rhymes and hard hitting beats.  CosteLL presents a talent for both street anecdote’s on tracks like “B.M.F.” and food for thought on “I Need a Dollar.”  Some other memorable cuts include his ode to tweets “Twitter Crush” and a tribute to the late king of pop titled “In God’s Hands.”

If you enjoy real hip-hop that’s reminiscent of a golden era of street dreams and storytelling but with a modern bounce, this is something you’ll want to hear.  Grab Not Another Mixtape from the download link below and peep the tracklist after the jump.

If you’ve been following the blog in recent months, you’ve probably noticed that every few weeks I’ve posted a new comedy sketch from the Eric’s World TV YouTube channel.  That’s because Eric’s antics simply won’t stop being amusing as hell.  In this episode of Moments With E Eric takes on the drug trade and explains the benefits of his obnoxious looking drug dealer dress code.  Unfortunately for E he doesn’t get very far in his ambitions to hustle on the streets.  As always he’s bound to learn the hard way.  Press play to be thoroughly entertained by yet another Eric’s World TV skit.

YRB TV: Vado from YRB Magazine on Vimeo.

Apologies are in order for The Eargasm’s faithful readers, as we’ve been on somewhat of a hiatus as of late.  As for myself I’ve been busy working with YRB Magazine here in New York City.  I recently had the opportunity to interview a promising rotten apple rapper who goes by the name of Vado.  His tracks are raw, he’s got the big star co-sign (Cam’ron) and having seen his live set I can tell you he knows how to get a venue jumpin’.  Check out the interview to learn more about the hottest new Harlem MC in a minute.
