There’s a vibe that artist from Cali exude. This cool calm, unrushed, seemingly effortless flow. Rich Hil, not from Cali, but he personifies that same type of delivery. He’s mellow with just enough punch to remind you that he’s a New Yorker at heart. My boy over at Dirty Jeenuis first played his tracks for me and I’ve been interested every since. Forcing me to request the link to the mixtape “The Lonely Limo” from Sean over at the Famous Firm.

You gotta appreciate Rich Hil. He doesn’t try to act hard, like some artist that apparently aren’t. He’s honest about whom his father is (only one of the most influential American Designers of the 90s). Here’s a hint, Hil is the beginning of his last name. He obviously has connections and could flood the masses with his music, but I believe he takes a more honest approach and lets fans migrate to him by choice.

P Dizzzy Feat Rich Hil

I heard this song back in July before Mario released it over perhaps one of the sickest beats of 2009.  P Dizzzy, all I have to say is watch out for him. Kid works hard and has some crucial co-signs behind him. This remains one of my favorite songs, although it aluudes to a recreational activity that I gave up a little over 4 months ago.

Favorit Line? “We don’t ride Limos they were cool in the 90s”….

boot # 2 berluti

#1

Berluti is notorious for their classic shoes.  This item has those same elements but just makes the cut to qualify as a boot.  It’s an undeniably smooth look and if you can dish out a stack for this fantastic and stunning pair, then do so.  The “New Physio” boot comes in a brown that stands out and gives off a classy vibe.  This fine product is manufactured in Italy.

Available at Barney’s New York

Retail $1,300

boot # 3 Gucci

#2

Italian fashion staple Gucci has always had an arsenal of boots to satisfy the seasons need for high-end yet heavy duty footwear. The boot is showcased in pure black leather with the bottoms and laces adorned with the traditional green and red, the flag of the brand. It’s winter, it’s Gucci. Enough said.

Available at Saksfifthavenue.com

Retail $695

boot # 4 Cole Haan

#3

Cole Haan is one of my brands of choice for shoes to utilize in daily use.  Their loafers and hard-bottomed dress shoes are often fashionable, but this distinctly constructed boot is a pleasant surprise in their collection. The “Air Brandon Lace-Up” boots include the Nike air technology that Cole Haan has been fusing into their lines for sometime now.

Available at Saksfifthavenue.com and Colehaan.com

Retail $278

boot # 5 diesel

#4

Sometimes you need that killer look, the all black everything look.  Here’s a purchase to solidify that look on winter nights.  Diesel’s “Wormate II” model is seemingly a collaboration between the battlefield and the runway.  Diesel boots are likely to be in high demand this year so grab yours a.s.a.p.

Available on Diesel.com

Retail $195

boot #1 ransom#5

Our neighbors to the north’s own Ransom join forces with Adidas for a collaboration line including this refreshing winter footwear gem.  The series features 5 different multi-color designs for this tough, yet definitive streetwear boot.   This release marks the first of a handful of projects to be produced by the two brands.

Available on Ransomshop.com

Retail $250

boot # 8 diesel #6

The “Bootcamp” model is another product of Diesel’s new showing of winter gear for the 09’/10’ cold months.  It’s a comfortable and versatile piece of footwear, coming in a neutral gray with a flare of an almost mustard yellow on the heel for some extra eye catching.

Available on Diesel.com

Retail $170

boot# 7 palladium#7

Palladium’s will likely be the most bang you’ll get for your buck this winter, being both the economical and stylish choice.  The rubber sole and comfortable design is partial to neither urban expeditions nor the ruggedness of the outdoors life.  Designed well for both city and rural lifestyles, expect to encounter a good amount of these on the feet in the street and elsewhere during upcoming snow days. The pair is made mainly of canvas and available in many colors.  This brand has been producing boots since just after WWII and will only continue to be a player in the field.

Available on Palladiumboots.com

Retail $70

Honorable Mentions:

Hobo Boot by Esquival

Retail $700

Jerrodd Dessert boot by BOSS Black

Retail $345

Not really into “urban” clothes. These LRG ads do an excellent job of seperating the brand from its traditional urban identity.

Great job LoveMade, whom produced the shoot.

Its no secret that I am a major fan of the mixtape created by Mick boogie and terry Urban. In my opinion they have carved their own lane in the once played out mixtape circuit. Yes, Mixtapes are getting played.. its about the EP now.. See Pac Div for more info. With feature on the mixtape from Tabi Bonney, UNI, Christian Rich, and Curtains, its like an Eargasm all-star line up.
