Ok can someone tell me where I can find an over 30 years old Diggy Simmons to date? This kid is just too steezy. The 14 year old son of Rev Run is already getting respect in the hip hop and fashion scene. Check his blog for his mixtape and style. www.digslifeofthejetsetter.blogspot.com and see why I named my dog after him.

Songs Turned into Tweets, 140 or Less.

Fitting a song into 140 characters or less. It seems like an impossible task. It may even seen silly. But it’s been done, time and again. Enough so that a Best Of album has been created, aggregating compositions from several Twitter musical magicians. But just because we’ve found a way to compress blog posts into 140 characters or less doesn’t mean that the concept should be applied to music as well, does it?

After composer Dan Stowell created a mini song by encoding the sound of waves crashing on the shore using SuperCollider, he tweeted the results. Others quickly followed suit, making their own compositions of compressed songs that could essentially fit into a single tweet. How novel.

Like you all probably read in my earlier post, my boy Nick turned me onto this new subculture music scene thats sweepin’ So Cal. Its known as dubstep and with that electronic feel plus heavy use of bass, its sure to give you an eargasm. This is his dubstep remix of Metric’s “Help I’m Alive” and its amazing and dare I say genius. Be on the look out for him because he def has the dubstep game in a choke hold, minus the G.I. Joe kung-fu grip ha!

There’s a vibe that artist from Cali exude. This cool calm, unrushed, seemingly effortless flow. Rich Hil, not from Cali, but he personifies that same type of delivery. He’s mellow with just enough punch to remind you that he’s a New Yorker at heart. My boy over at Dirty Jeenuis first played his tracks for me and I’ve been interested every since. Forcing me to request the link to the mixtape “The Lonely Limo” from Sean over at the Famous Firm.

You gotta appreciate Rich Hil. He doesn’t try to act hard, like some artist that apparently aren’t. He’s honest about whom his father is (only one of the most influential American Designers of the 90s). Here’s a hint, Hil is the beginning of his last name. He obviously has connections and could flood the masses with his music, but I believe he takes a more honest approach and lets fans migrate to him by choice.
